Set up Pixette with Apple Photos
Play All Photos, Favorites, your own albums or iCloud Shared Albums from the Photos library on your iPhone or iPad. Allow access to your photos and pick the albums.
Choose Apple Photos
Open Pixette on your iPhone or iPad and tap Set Up My Photos (or open Settings and go to Connected). Choose 'Apple Photos' in the list of sources.
Allow access to your photos
iOS asks whether Pixette may use your photos. Choose Allow Full Access, so every album and shared album shows up.
See what you can play
The list starts with All Photos. Below it, Albums shows the albums Photos keeps up to date, such as Recents, Favorites and Videos, then your own albums, each with its count. Shared Albums lists your iCloud Shared Albums.
Tap All Photos or tick albums
Tap All Photos to play the whole library, or tick several albums: they play together as one slideshow. Then tap Continue.
Let Pixette index your photos
Pixette now lists the photos and videos you picked, then the slideshow starts. Photos stored only in iCloud are downloaded when their turn comes.
New photos join at the next index
Pixette reads your library when it indexes it, so new photos and new favorites join at the next index. In Settings, turn on Reindex Automatically and set Reindex Interval to Daily, and they come in by themselves.
Photos in iCloud
Pixette downloads photos stored only in iCloud when their turn comes. Keep the iPhone or iPad connected to the internet while the slideshow plays.
No shared albums in the list?
When Pixette finds no shared albums, the app tells you. Turn on Shared Albums in Settings → Photos.
On Apple TV
Apple Photos plays on iPhone and iPad. On Apple TV, Pixette can also play the TV's own iCloud Photos and Shared Albums.
Don't have Pixette yet?
Download it free on your tablet, phone or TV, then come back to connect your Apple Photos library.
